You got Questions, We got Answers

What exactly is "Not for Profit"

How did Misanthropik Records come to be?

How can you do this without charging?

Good question! See, We do what we do for you because of our love for music. We're not trying to make it rich off of someone else's art, like some predatory labels do. Instead, we have a menu list of services we offer, and what they cost. If you are wanting online distribution, you would cover just what it costs to do that. If you wanted to order various merch items you would pay exactly what those items cost. You may work out an affordable monthly deal with your promotional representative for additional hours of work on their part, but you would never be forced to pay something, nor do we make profit. Any funds allocated and agreed upon are put back into the label and promotions.

How can you do this without charging?

It isn't as hard as it sounds. We aren't money hungry to begin with, and our staff is like minded. We have a crew of interns who we are training how to promote, and manage. This gives them experience, and they are happy to be involved. We operate like a family, having one anothers back, helping one another grow and expand our skill sets, networking capabilities and more. We partner with other companies, and influential individuals as far as we can reach and network for them the same as they network for us. Metal is it's own community, and we are working on building bridges, and strengthening the infrastructure. The friendships made, the bonds, those are worth more than money man.

What Will Misanthropik Records do for me?

Well our CEO, Erick Leviathan started his band Misanthropik Torment in 2018, and was contacted after a while by a predatory label. They wanted $8,000 for him to sign to them, and what they offered was about the same as what we do. His wife wasn't about to let him spend that kind of money, and they brainstormed with various friends on how to achieve the same outcome offered, for minimum expense. Taking part of the name of his band, and morphing it into something bigger, Misanthropik Records, Promotions and more was born.

What Will Misanthropik Records do for me?

What if I sign, then change my mind, or a mainstream label wants to sign us?

What Will Misanthropik Records do for me?

We have a few different plans that we offer, the all inclusive would be putting your music on multiple digital platforms, Getting videos up on youtube, providing digital streaming and the like. We also create a merchandise store both for your albums to be sold on but also for custom made online merch stores that won't cost you a cent to operate. We get you airplay on numerous radio stations, interviews with influencers and book live venues for you. Your social media likes and follows will increase steadily, your music will reach new fans and your streams will increase. We network the shit out of you.

How do you treat the bands you work with?

What if I sign, then change my mind, or a mainstream label wants to sign us?

What if I sign, then change my mind, or a mainstream label wants to sign us?

We like to stay personal with each band once they join the family. Leaving open communication, shooting the shit, getting them involved at whatever capacity they desire. Many of our bands have a member or two who want to get knees deep in the Label, and begin to intern themselves, learning the ropes. Some of our bands have multi-talented members who also create merch, which benefits everyone and we encourage the members of each band to mingle with the other bands, create friendships and even collaborations on new sounds! We also take into consideration that some people work very hard, full time at their day jobs, and want space, in those instances we check in with a designated member of the band to get any new information they may have.

Our goal is to get you noticed by bigger labels! We know that our capabilities only reach so far and the big goal for most bands is to get on television, mainstream radio and more! That is absolutely acceptable, and the reason why we have a non-exclusive contract! If at any time you are not satisfied with the services we have to offer, or if some big-wig wants to scoop you up, you will be free to. We also know that bands sometimes separate, and in those cases we can just put the contract on hold for if and when things are mended. If you for whatever reason choose to disband, we will remove all of your art from our platforms, as it belongs to you.

Do you take the rights to my music?

Do you take the rights to my music?

Do you take the rights to my music?

Absolutely not! It is even in our contract that 100% of your art, remains yours. We will never use your music without your permission in any format. You own your art, we just help more people hear it.

Major Labels foot the bill, Do you?

Being that we are a not for profit organization we cannot pay your expenses, however we can provide the most affordable options for distribution and products. When it comes to touring, we can book you at many venues, and thoroughly promote the events, ensuring you receive decent revenue, however travel expenses will be left up to you.
